GRP PIPES: THE CONTINUOUS FILAMENT WINDING PROCESS
Manufacturing Process:
The Continuous Winding Process (Advancing Mandrel Process) uses a re-forming mandrel on which GRP pipes are manufactured continuously and cut to required length.
The materials are applied onto the moving mandrel in a predeterminded ratio. A first layer of polyester film is wound on the mandrel, followed by a surface veil and chopped strand mat. Filament winding of continuous rovings, together with
chopped glass, sand, axial reinforcement (if needed) and polyester resin are applied simultaneously. Finally a new layer of surface veil is applied (if required).
Hardening of the resin takes place in a curing oven. Then the pipe is automatically cut to desired lengths and finished by the cutting unit calibrating unit.

Features of the Continuous Filament Winding process are :
Fast Production of GRP pipes
Sleeve /Coupler Joint Plain End Pipes
Pipes manufactured are for Gravity/Low pressure application (upto 20 bar)
Diameter Range : 400 mm to 2500 mm
Pressure Class Range :upto 20 bar
Stiffness Class Range : 2500 N/m2 to 10000 N/m2
Length : Maximum 15 meter lengths
