Zoltek, St Louis, Missouri, USA, has reported increase in revenues for the first quarter of its 2005 fiscal year (which ended on 31 December 2004). The company is positive that the sales of carbon fibre will continue to grow during 2005.

For its 2005 first quarter, the company posted the following results: Net sales from continuing operations of US$13.5 million, up 65% from the first quarter of fiscal 2004;
Sales from the carbon fibre business unit up 170% ($7.1 million) from the first quarter of fiscal 2004;
An operating loss from continuing operations of $1.5 million, compared to the loss of $2.6 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2004;
A net loss of $3.4 million, compared to a net loss of $3.7 million for the first quarter of fiscal 2004.
